2019 In Review
2019 was an interesting year, wasn’t it? Full of heart-ache, beauty, transitions, and more ups and downs than we could imagine (until we got to 2020 amiright?!).
Personally, I celebrated both my 5th wedding anniversary and my big-30 birthday (still not so sure about it). I traveled to Hawaii, NYC, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Richmond for celebrations and built the house in the woods my hubby + I had been dreaming about and planning for years. It was one of the absolute hardest and best years rolled into one beautiful mess.
For BKC, it was my busiest year yet. I got to photograph so so many beautiful couples as they eloped, gathered just a few family + friends for a micro-wedding, or had an all-out party and traditional wedding day. I got to learn a lot from new workshops and e-courses and put my heart and soul into this business. I learned what success meant for me, and what it didn’t. I got to expand my business/branding photography and worked with a local and national conference to document their events. I got to see some of my incredible past couples again as they’ve grown their families and document new seasons for them. A photograph of mine landed on the cover of a magazine (thank you Baltimore Weddings!) for the second time, and it was still so surreal. I photographed families, churches, seniors, events, construction sites, and businesses. But if I’m honest, I always come back to the couples. If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for romance and I love love love getting to hear people’s stories. So, my #BKCcouples are what I wanted to focus on in this review. I could’ve shared so much more, but it’s already long enough. I am so deeply thankful to have gotten to know these people and document a day or season in their story.
So here’s to the 2019 couples and all we got to share together.
