Ever wonder what an engagement session will be like?

a lot like this*

For me, engagement sessions are a time to celebrate this beautiful, crazy, rare season you're in together. There will be a lot of movement, fun, laughter, and romance. I want these sessions to feel more like you’re on a date with your best friend and not something posed or stressful.

I know what you're thinking-
"but I'm super awkward in photos"
"I never know what to do with my hands"
"we just aren't photogenic"

I get it. I can feel like the most awkward person in front of the camera too, so I won't leave you hanging! I'll help you feel comfortable and confident, letting your personalities shine through the images.

Instead of stiff cheesy poses, I ask a lot of questions, involve a lot of movement, and give you things to do and think about so you forget about the camera and get to just have fun and be yourselves. I want you to leave your session feeling more in love and excited to get married than you did coming in!

One of the questions I get asked the most is: where should we take our engagement photos?

I love when clients come up with locations that are personal and meaningful to them.
If you want some ideas on where to start, take my Buzzfeed style quiz!

take the engagement session quiz!

Your marriage, your love, and commitment to each other are my inspiration on your wedding day. From beginning to end, I want to tell your story in the most natural, romantic, and meaningful way possible. While I love capturing portraits, I find the small, candid moments is where most of the story is found. As you and your guests relive these images for a lifetime, it’s those natural actions and reactions that will trigger the most memories. I love working behind-the-scenes to take images of real people in their element. My editing leans toward deep richer tones and I love a mixture of earthy and urban environments - whatever is more you!

FAQ

I’m currently located near Baltimore, but I would love to travel wherever your adventure takes you! Travel fees may apply to weddings/sessions outside of a 60-mile radius.

Yes, I’d love to meet you in person! I think it’s so important for you to be comfortable with your photographer and make sure we’re a good fit. If you aren’t in the Baltimore area, I’m also happy to chat with you over a video call!

What's your photographic style?

Can we meet you?

Where are you located? Do you travel?

the basics

Yes and No. I absolutely will work with you on a list of formal portraits to take during the day for family, wedding party, and any friend groups requested. I also love hearing about the types of images you love and making sure I can capture your connection and celebration in the way you are envisioning! However, I don't keep a list of additional photos or poses to take or replicate throughout the day because that will get in the way of me being able to capture the real moments happening in front of me. I love focusing on candid, natural moments and don't want you to miss out those to replicate a Pinterest pose.

Can we give you a shot list?

This totally depends on what your priorities are! Standard collections range from 6-8 hours of coverage, with additional hours available as an a la carte option. Eight hours of coverage works great to capture everything from getting ready details to the heart of the party. When everything (getting ready, ceremony, reception) takes place in one location and you don’t need a ton captured in the beginning or end of the day, six hours might be a better fit for you.

I also offer custom elopement and micro wedding packages for couples that need less coverage.

FAQ

I love getting to work with a second-shooter at weddings because it gives clients an extra set of hands and eyes on the wedding day to capture every angle. While I don’t think it’s a necessity (especially for weddings with under 200 guests) there are a ton of benefits. Second-shooters focus mainly on capturing moments that are happening at the same time (i.e. both bridal parties getting ready, family portraits, and cocktail hour) or are getting different perspectives and candids (i.e. ceremony, portraits).

Yes! I love to help couples through this process as much as I can. After booking, I'll send out an online wedding guide that includes sample timelines and information on how to plan your day to include everything you want without being stressed or rushed. A month or two before your wedding date, I'll send out a questionnaire that goes over all these details again and we can work through any last minute questions needed to make sure you feel 100% comfortable and confident before the day!

Maybe! I have photographed at venues all over the DelMarVa area with all kinds of styles and environments. If I haven't photographed at your venue before, don't worry! I LOVE photographing at new places and wouldn't book with you if I didn't feel comfortable working at your venue. If I haven't worked at a venue before I will likely do a site visit before the wedding day or arrive early to location scout and get familiar with the venue specifics.

I don't put a limit on the number of images you receive! Please let me know if you'd like to see some past galleries to get a better idea of what a full day may look like for you! On average, most wedding couples can expect to receive about 50-100 images per hour of total photo coverage.

FAQ

I do my best to get your images to you ASAP after the wedding day! Within 48 hours you'll get a link to a high-res previews. After that, you'll receive the full gallery in 10 weeks (but usually earlier!).

I'll send your images in two ways. First, you'll get a link to an online gallery where you can view, download, and share all your images. The gallery stays online for one year. You can download the images in both web-size format (for email/social media) and high-resolution (for printing). I will also mail out a USB flash drive of your images in the mail as an extra backup and keepsake.

Yes! I love seeing my clients post images online to share with their friends and family! All I ask is that you credit the photo or album with my name and link. I do not put watermarks on my images, so you can share freely. However, please keep the integrity of the image by not adding any additional edits or filters to them.

FAQ

- Bora + Jim

Words really cannot express how great and talented Bekah is.
SHE IS AMAZING!! From the moment I saw her work I knew that I wanted her to be our photographer. Bekah is sweet, genuine, caring, and makes taking pictures super easy. We had our engagement photos taken with her and were blown away at how great they turned out! It rained the entire day on our wedding day. I was really worried we wouldn't get any good shots since we had VERY little space to work it. Well they turned out amazing! I truly do not know how Bekah was able to do so much with the limited space we had. She is truly the most talented.

"Talented, genuine, & caring"

-Melissa + Ali

There are not enough words to describe our experience with Bekah.
Not only is she crazy talented behind the camera, but she is so kind and sweet And has a way of making you feel so comfortable and relaxed. Bekah never stopped working the entire night. She captured our guests having a blast and the shots of the dance floor are absolutely priceless. Overall, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have had Bekah document our day for us. The beautiful photos will give us memories to look back on for the rest of our lives.
We can’t wait to recruit her for future photo shoots!

"Wow. Our favorite vendor"

- Vanessa + Anthony

"I cannot say enough good things about working with Bekah. On our wedding day, Bekah far exceeded my expectations. She not only took amazing photos, but she mapped out a timeline and locations for us to take portraits that would fit the vibe and theme of our wedding.

My photos are some of my most prized possessions from this season of my life, and the only thing I'm sad about is that this chapter is over and we won't be communicating with Bekah as much.

Do yourselves a favor and hire her, you will not regret it!"
