Summer Boho Chesapeake Bay Foundation Wedding

Stephanie + Owen Wedding Story

Owen + Stephanie’s outdoor summer wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis, Maryland was one for the books!

I first met these two at their NYC engagement session at Brooklyn Park a few months before the wedding. It was so special to get to know them while walking around their neighborhood coffee shops and parks. After talking all morning about our mutual love of good design, food, and cute rescue pups, I knew I was going to love documenting their wedding day!

Their wedding was a typical hot + humid July day with the threat of rain over the horizon. We had justttt gotten finished with their first look + portraits when the skies opened up and a big storm came through! Thankfully, we were able to wait it out, and soon we were able to continue with the ceremony as planned, under the big oak tree on the beach under clear skies. It was such a gorgeous location, filled with so much natural beauty. Oh, and did I mention they had the cutest flower girl – their sweet pitbull pup, Honey?!

One of my favorite things about S+O’s wedding was how warm and welcoming it felt all day. Everyone was so kind and relaxed, it felt like one big family reunion. They served a family-style dinner with everyone passing around big plates of fried chicken and biscuits and each table had a selection of hot sauces scattered throughout. They included so many thoughtful details into the day, and I loved the mix of all the organic, earthy greenery and florals included that balanced the open and intricate architecture of CBF’s gorgeous building.

To end the night, Steph changed from her elegant caped wedding dress and rocked a fun bridal jumpsuit and fanny pack to dance the night away with friends and family. It was epic and beautiful and one I won’t forget. ♡
